I’ve said from the start that I’ll take the development of a shift handover system as far as I could, but it looks like I’m running out of luck. The next week may be make or break. And to be sure such a development is hard work, and I’ve got quite enough on my little silver plate right now. Of course it would be great to make it happen, saving lives and making money, but it’s not in my hands anymore. But then I’ve approached this from the start with a ‘social complexity’ attitude, so that’s not really my problem.![]()

Shake and Bake’s origins
Shake ‘n Bake is a food brand asset owned by Altria Group. It is currently marketed under the Kraft brand. Shake ‘N’ Bake is particularly noted for having been advertised in television commercials starring Carly Schroeder, Taylor Momsen, and Philip Amelio. Shake ‘n’ Bake was first introduced in 1965.
The derivative “shake & bake” denotes a military technique involving use of White phosphorous as an antipersonnel weapon.
It also is a slang term for a forest firefighter’s personal fire protection shelter.
In the 2006 film Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, Cal Naughton Jr. and Ricky Bobby are known, respectively, as “Shake and Bake” on the NASCAR circuit. Naughton says in the film that the nickname was chosen because shake and bake “rhyme” and “they’re both verbs.”
In an odd coincidence, a few weeks before the film’s release, then-Formula One driver Juan Pablo Montoya announced he would drive in the Nextel Cup Series in 2007 for his old Champ Car and IRL team owner, Chip Ganassi. Even stranger, both Montoya’s first stock car testing session and first stock car race took place at Talladega.
