In honor of the King’s death a little anecdote. Back in 1998 hooked up with Elvis fan Amy Thacker when in Memphis for the BBC to cover the 30th anniversary of MLK’s death. It turned out she was such a fan she’d landed a cool job as one of the attendants – so that was my great excuse to visit Graceland, saying a casual “hi” to Amy on the way round. Later Amy lost her job after she fell out with the ‘Corporation’. Not all is lost, as Google Maps tells me Amy now lives off Elvis Presley Boulevard.
